Each holiday season, Cavalier & Company transforms hotels, restaurants, residences, and commercial spaces throughout Chicagoland into memorable seasonal environments.
We are looking for a few talented, hardworking people to join our team for the 2026 holiday season.
These are seasonal, project based positions with variable hours throughout November and December, with some preparation beginning earlier and removals continuing into January.
Our finished spaces may look glamorous. Getting them there often isn't.
Holiday installations mean long days, ladders, boxes, trucks, late nights, early mornings, and plenty of time on your feet. We are looking for people who are dependable, energetic, professional, and happy to jump in wherever another set of hands is needed.
Seasonal Decorating Assistants
Have a great eye and know your way around ribbon, greenery, flowers, ornaments, or a glue gun?
We are looking for creative, detail oriented people to assist our design team with holiday preparation and installations throughout Chicagoland.
This can be a great seasonal fit for florists, event professionals, visual merchandisers, production artists, makers, and design students looking for additional work during the holiday season.
You may help with:
• Decorating trees, wreaths, garlands, mantels, and seasonal displays
• Styling ribbon, ornaments, florals, branches, props, and accessories
• Preparing and organizing décor in our studio
• Assisting our designers with on site styling and finishing details
• Packing, unpacking, loading, organizing, and maintaining décor
• Installing and removing seasonal displays
A strong creative eye is important. Professional floral or decorating experience is wonderful, but creativity, attention to detail, a great work ethic, and willingness to learn matter just as much.
Seasonal Installation Assistants
Prefer the behind the scenes action?
We are looking for capable, dependable crew members to help move our holiday installations from the studio to some of Chicagoland's most beautiful spaces.
You may help with:
• Loading and unloading trucks, vans, carts, and equipment
• Transporting holiday décor and installation materials
• Moving trees, props, ladders, tools, boxes, and decorative elements
• Assembling and positioning trees and displays
• Assisting our design team during installations and removals
• Keeping work areas organized, safe, and client ready
• Organizing inventory and maintaining our studio between projects
You should be comfortable with physical work, ladders, extended periods on your feet, and occasionally long installation days.
A valid driver's license is preferred. Experience driving cargo vans or box trucks is a big plus.
ONE TEAM. LOTS OF HATS.
Because Cavalier is a boutique design studio, everyone pitches in.
Decorators sometimes carry boxes. Crew members sometimes hang ornaments. Everyone helps load the truck.
